SanJuana “Juanita” Diaz, 65, died Sunday May 27, 2018 at St. Catherine Hospital. She was born January 27, 1953 in Belen del Refugio, Jalisco, Mexico, the daughter of Donaciano Gomez and Petra Rodriguez. She married Angel Diaz in 1972 at Belen Del Refugio, Jalisco, Mexico. He survives.

Juanita had lived in Garden City since the late 1990’s. She was a loving mother, devoted wife and doting grandmother. She enjoyed tending to her flowers, praying the rosary on a daily basis, and visiting the adoration chapel at St. Catherine Hospital. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her children- Lorena Diaz of Brush, Colorado, Gustavo Diaz, Juan Diaz, Karina Diaz & Eagaly Diaz all of Garden City; Siblings- Guadalupe Gomez, Refugia Gomez, Francisca Gomez, Mariano Gomez , Teresa Gomez, Jose Gomez, Roberto Gomez and Antonia Gomez all of Mexico and 5 Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant son, Joaquin Diaz.

Rosary will be held at 4:00 pm with Funeral Mass following at 5:00 pm both Wednesday May 30, 2018 all at St. Mary Catholic Church with Charles Seiwert officiating. Friends may call 1:00-8:00 pm Tuesday May 29, 2018 at Garnand Funeral Home. Family suggests memorials to St. Mary Catholic Church. Condolences may be posted at garnandfuneralhomes.com
