Yvonne Amelia Rivas, 36, died Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Salina Regional Medical Center in Salina, Kansas. She was born June 25, 1981 in Garden City, Kansas the daughter of Leopoldo Munoz, Sr. & Dora Grace (Urteaga) Munoz.
Yvonne has lived most of her life in Deerfield. She attended Deerfield schools and graduated from Deerfield High School. She then attended 2 years at Garden City Community College. Yvonne worked for several years as a Para for Deerfield Schools and has worked as a caretaker for her family. She was a member of the Lakin Assembly of God in Lakin, Kansas, and she enjoyed shopping, and attending her children’s sporting events.
On April 13, 2002, Yvonne married Noe Rivas in Deerfield, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include three children Nathaniel Rivas, Avi Grace Rivas, & Azaria Grace Rivas all of Deerfield; her parents Leopoldo, Sr. & Dora Grace Munoz of Deerfield; and a brother Leopoldo Munoz, Jr. of Deerfield.
A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2018 at the Lakin Assembly of God. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018 also at the Lakin Assembly of God with Pastor Rafael Franco officiating. Burial will follow at the Deerfield Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Lakin.
