Obituary for Demetrius Atkins Jr.

Demetrius Atkins Jr., 32, died on October 28, 2017. He was born on May 26, 1985 at Sweetwater, Texas the son of Demetrius & Teresa (Allen) Atkins, Sr.

He grew up in Garden City. After high school he moved to San Antonio, Texas. He eventually moved back to Wichita, Kansas. He worked in feedyards and construction. He was a likable and loving person.

Demetrius enjoyed fishing, spending time with his daughter and loved watching his favorite football team the Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by his Daughter- Emani Atkins of San Antonio, Texas, Mother- Teresa Allen of Wichita, Father- Demetrius Atkins, Sr. of Wichita, 2 Brothers- Chris Atkins of Hanover & Joshua Atkins of Kansas City, Missouri, Sister- Denise Atkins of Dallas, Texas, Grandmothers- Nellie Joe Thompson of Sweetwater, Texas & Elnoria Allen of Garden City, 8 Nieces and Nephews and Uncles and Aunts. He is preceded in death by Grandparents- Rev Robert Allen, Plez Atkins & Earnestine Kinney.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City with the Rev Roger Bradshaw officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Memorials are suggested to the Demetrius Atkins Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home. Condolences may be posted at www.garnandfuneralhomes.com
