Obituary for Robert James Padilla

Robert Padilla, age 51, of Ulysses, Kansas died Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses, Kansas. He was born May 14, 1966, in Ulysses, Kansas, the son of Merejildo A. and Mollie M. (Cruz) Padilla.

Robert grew up in Ulysses and graduated from Ulysses High School. He helped his Dad in the plumbing business. Robert was also a mechanic and carpenter in Ulysses. He was a member of the Catholic faith.

He is survived by his brothers, Lee Roy Padilla of Ulysses, Abel Padilla of Lyons, and Merejildo Jr. (Danny) Padilla of Ulysses; sisters, Becky Padilla of Ulysses, Gloria Guzman of Arkansas City, Sylvia Moreno of Liberal, Debbie Porras of Tyrone, Oklahoma, and Brenda Padilla of Tennessee.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Johnny Padilla.

Rosary will be held Thursday, September 14, 2017, at 7:00 PM and Memorial Mass will be Friday, September 15, 2017, at 10:00 AM both at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses with Reverend Peter Fernandez officiating. Inurnment will follow at Ulysses Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given Robert Padilla Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
