Wichita- Carol J. Witt, 82, died on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at her home in Wichita. She was born on August 30, 1934 in Garden City the daughter of Otis Warren & Lillian Laueta (Kitterman) Gaylord.

Carol was a graduate of Garden City High School and married Dean H. Witt in Garden City. He died on August 6, 2001. Dean was a career military person so they lived in several different places during his career. They returned from England in 1958 and she has lived in Wichita since 1959. Carol was a “motocross mom” and enjoyed crafts and ceramics.

Survivors include 2 Sons- Richard Witt and Gary Witt of Wichita, 3 Brothers- Don Gaylord of Horatio, Arkansas, Edwin Gaylord of Merced, California & Allen Gaylord of Wichita, Sister- Marilyn Fulton of Wichita, 1 Granddaughter – Cathryn Monroe of DeSota & 2 Great-Grandchildren- Elodie Monroe & Orion Monroe. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, 2 Grandsons- Chris Sivey & Andrew Witt & Brother- Johnny Gaylord.

Graveside service will be at 11:30 AM on Tuesday at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City with Rev Joel Plisek officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Memorials may be made to the Carol Witt Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
