Obituary for Macyle Mae Shepherd

Macyle Mae Shepherd, 79, died Thursday, June 29, 2017 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She was born August 4, 1937 in Wood River, Nebraska the daughter of Robert and Merna (Mead) Wade.
Macyle grew up in Wood River and attended school there through the 7th grade. She then moved with her family to Grand Island, Nebraska where she continued to attend school and graduated from high school. Macyle worked in dentistry for 31 years, retiring in 1992. Macyle lived in Larned, Kansas from 1976 to 1978. She also lived in South Fork, Colorado and later moved to Garden City. She was a member of Quilts of Valor, Order of the Eastern Star, PEO, and Community Congregational Church in Garden City. She enjoyed quilting and sewing.
In 1953, Macyle married Richard G. Decker in Grand Island, Nebraska. She later married Leslie Wayne Jefferson on April 4, 2009 in South Fork, Colorado. He survives. Other survivors include three children Marvin & Jill Decker of Union, Nebraska, Barry & Robyn Decker of Grand Island, Nebraska, and Annette & Dan Waetzig of Garden City, Kansas; and numerous Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Val Potter; a Brother; and a Sister.
A Celebration of Macyle’s life will be held at a later date in Wood River, Nebraska. There will be no calling hours. The family suggests memorials given to the Finney County Senior Center in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
