Joyce Lorene May Doty, 56 died Saturday, April 15, 2017 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She was born September 5, 1960 in Tribune, Kansas the daughter of LeRoy Perry & Patsy L. (Allen) Doty.
Joyce moved with her family to Garden City when she was a child. She has lived in Garden City and Holcomb since. Joyce attended Garden City schools. A homemaker, Joyce loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her dogs, and her plants.
Survivors include two sons Michael Scott Ward of Garden City, KS and Byron Alan & wife Shirley Nicole Ward of Dixon, MO; her mother Patsy Alexshonis of St. Robert, MO; a sister Valorie Jordan of Garden City, KS; six grandchildren Jada Ward, Justice Ward, Jayden Ward, Tristin Ward, Journey Ward, and Boston Ward; three nieces Danielle Flores, Cheyenne Doty, and Macie Doty; and two great-nieces Chloe Flores and Emma Flores. Joyce is preceded in death by her father LeRoy Doty; her step-father Joseph Alexshonis; a brother Wade LeRoy Doty; and a sister Tracey Kasiska.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Rev. Brian Faust officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date at the Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas. There will be no calling hours. The family request memorials given to the American Cancer Society in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
