Obituary for Tamara K. Dieker

Tamara K. Dieker, age 56, of Ulysses, Kansas died Thursday, January 05, 2017, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses, Kansas. She was born June 2, 1960, in Lamar, Colorado, the daughter of Joseph R., Jr. and Shirley (Wells) Weis.

Tamara grew up in Ulysses, Alamogordo, New Mexico, Enid, Oklahoma, and Wichita, Kansas. She had been a cross country truck driver. Tamara married Stephen D. Dieker on March 23, 2003 in Ulysses. Tamara enjoyed working with wood. She has made everything from a covered wagon to a grandfather clock. She raised parakeets, choi fish, and chickens. She enjoyed spending time with her dog Taffy. Tamara enjoyed being outdoors, riding motorcycles, and traveling in their motor home. Tamara was a landlord and rented duplex housing.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen Dieker of their home; sons, Todd Koehn and wife Marisa and Tanner Koehn both of Ulysses, Kansas; mother, Shirley Weis of Ulysses, Kansas; brothers, Michael Weis and wife Shelley of Paris Missouri, Mark Weis and wife Jada of Ulysses, Kansas; sister, Kimberly McGaughey and husband Mark of Ulysses, Kansas; and two granddaughters, Kytaira and Trinity.

Tamara is preceded in death by her father, Joseph R., Weis Jr.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at 2:00 PM at the Shelton Memorial Christian Church with Reverend Kelly Gindlesberger officiating. Interment will follow at Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses, Kansas. Friends may call Monday, January 9, 2017, from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
